Note : Direct Gas Firing gives water vapors in the
barn, so greater ventilation is required to drive the extra humidity
out of the barn mainly during Leaf & Stem Drying phase.
Rejecting more hot air to the atmosphere increases
fuel consumption, as higher capacity burner is required for the
extra ventilation and Curing efficiency drops.
VCU's Heat Exchanger exhausting all combustion products
(vapors too) outside the barn, heats the air sufficiently with
less btus resulting higher Curing Efficiency.
Curing technique with VCU is practically the same
with Direct Fired Curing.
- Curing Controls (optional)
VCU can be ordered without Controls (when existing
controls are operational) or with :
a) Ventobacco
V2K Digital Dry bulb controller with Temperature
Advance & 2 sensors (Lower-Upper temperature) or
b) Ventobacco
VK 981 Curing Computer Fully Programmable
with Dry bulb, Wet bulb, Temperature Advance, dT, and servomotor
for fresh air (intake) damper.
- Fresh air (Intake) damper
Can be ordered separately if the existing dampers
on the old barns cannot remain when installing the VCU.
Note : Several installation proposals for all
U.S. make barns help installer get the basic idea of different
ways the VCU can fit in different make barns.
